Pico Toning

Pico Toning is a pigment laser that irradiates in picosecond units.

If we only tell you this, it might not make sense. But if you compare it side-by-side with traditional laser toning, you'll understand immediately.

The difference in irradiation time between the two treatments is 1000 times.

The principle of removing pigment is simple. It's about selectively destroying only the pigment with a laser. The problem is that during this process, the surrounding normal skin, though subtly, is also stimulated.

What you want is for brown pigment to disappear, not for the healthy skin next to it to turn red.

Therefore, the key is the speed of attack and retreat. You need to break down the pigment and exit before the heat spreads to the surroundings.

Of course, traditional laser toning is also fast. However, when placed next to Pico Toning, it is 1000 times slower in terms of numbers. That's 1000 times.

So, is it enough to only get Pico Toning?

No. This is where it really begins. For toning treatments, it's not about the equipment, but how you receive it. Even with the same equipment, completely different results can be achieved.

Kkeut Clinic's Pico Toning is different in these ways.

Pico Toning, A Subtle Difference

First. We don't rely on visual inspection. We examine by imaging

Kkeut Clinic uses precise skin diagnostic devices like Mark-Vu and Janus to check for pigment.

Pigmentation varies greatly. Even if they appear to be the same brown, those in deeper layers differ from those in shallow layers, and accordingly, everything from the type of treatment to the laser wavelength changes.

What is visible to the eye is only the surface. If you decide on the wavelength by only looking at the surface, it's just a guess.

That's why we always take photos before your consultation. The director makes a diagnosis based on images, not intuition.

Second. We ensure the '2000 shots' found to be significant in studies.

"I got Pico Toning."

This statement is not entirely accurate at Kkeut Clinic.

Low-output whitening lasers are typically recommended to deliver 2,000 shots or more in studies. If the number of shots is insufficient, you might receive the treatment, but the effect will be minimal for that session. You'll have spent time and money, but your skin won't show the difference.

Kkeut Clinic adheres to the 2,000-shot standard. And after the treatment, we jointly confirm how many shots were delivered today.

Therefore, at Kkeut Clinic, it's more accurate to say this:

"I received 2,000 shots of Pico Toning."

Third. We do not treat all 10 sessions with the same intensity.

Toning is a treatment that can easily be performed with a fixed output.

Since it's low-output, even if the same settings are used every time, it's not obvious. It's also difficult for the patient to notice. This means it's a treatment that can be set once and continued for 10 sessions without changes.

However, pigmentation breaks down and fades with each successive session. Yesterday's pigment is different from today's, so if the intensity remains the same, there won't be a proper reaction.

Kkeut Clinic records every session. Before each treatment, we check the intensity of the previous session and re-determine the intensity through a pre-treatment consultation.

It's not 10 sessions, but 10 judgments.

Fourth. In each session, we re-check the areas of concern.

Toning is a treatment typically received over 10 or more sessions. Some concerns fade, while others remain. As sessions progress, the areas of concern continuously change.

What happens if we treat you the same way every time without asking?

Areas that haven't cleared up will continue to not clear up. As sessions accumulate, the disparity grows. It might even leave behind uneven pigmentation.

Before each treatment, Kkeut Clinic looks into the mirror with you to confirm which areas are most concerning today. This is not just for the first session, but for every session.

If we ask but then perform the treatment exactly the same way, it's no different from not asking at all.

The confirmed areas are actually treated with more concentrated irradiation. We also don't miss areas that are often overlooked, such as around the eyes or the bridge of the nose.

Areas are missed because they are easy to overlook. We go that extra mile.

Fifth. Slow Lining Technique

Toning is not painful. And your eyes will be covered during the treatment.

In other words, it's a treatment where there's no way to verify how it was performed.

There's a method where the handpiece is rotated in wide, sweeping motions. It's fast. It's convenient. And the recipient can't tell the difference. This is because toning treatments don't leave visible marks on the treated areas.

However, with this method, energy is delivered sporadically. Some areas are treated multiple times, while others are barely touched. It cannot be uniform.

Kkeut Korean Medicine Clinic slowly draws lines to cover the face. Each shot is appropriately overlapped, ensuring no areas are missed.

To be honest, it's much more difficult for the practitioner. Moving slowly is several times more strenuous than moving quickly. We know that the quicker method is more convenient.

Nevertheless, we use this method.

Six. We don't miss even curved and folded areas.

For toning, the hand not holding the handpiece determines the outcome.

Hair must be swept aside to prevent burning. Curved areas or folded spots, like the side of the nose, must be gently flattened during treatment. If not flattened, energy won't reach the inner folded parts, leaving those areas untreated later.

Those who have received toning treatments will know how difficult it is to maintain this for the entire face during each session.

Because it's difficult, most practitioners don't do it.

Kkeut Korean Medicine Clinic upholds this standard.

A Message from the Chief Physician

I believe that pigmentation treatment is not merely about applying laser, but rather about how meticulously one analyzes and adjusts to the skin condition.

Especially for pigmentary disorders like melasma, strong treatments alone are not sufficient. It is crucial to precisely deliver the necessary energy while minimizing skin irritation.

Our clinic carefully observes each patient's skin reactions, striving to provide not just a simple procedure, but a customized pigmentation treatment.
